Betview dropped in to Sporting Solutions’ head office in Kennington and spoke with Managing Director Simon Trim to get an insight into the firm’s continued success.
Referring to the initial idea behind Sporting Solutions, which came about in 2005 after an internal project at Sporting Index, Trim said:
“In-play was the driver. It was becoming a major new area of growth for bookmakers who were faced with competition online through the likes of bet365 and Stan James who were the original pioneers.
“Bookmakers soon realised that in order to trade successfully it was important to have mathematical models and trading expertise. We launched Sporting Solutions to offer the betting industry a modern B2B solution to a rapidly growing sector, all backed up by the heritage of Sporting Index.
Trim highlighted the growth in the Sporting Solutions products to ‘cloud’ technology – where data is stored and accessed remotely via web or mobile applications.
“We launched our Connect Platform in 2012 and this works on cloud technology. It means our services are much easier to access through a single integration, they are quicker to get live with a wider range of products available. It’s also more cost effective as being cloud based it is light weight with no network infrastructure or back office system admin requirements.”
